Best Execution and Beyond - Your Evolving Sales Strategy

Thursday, August 10th, 2017

2:00-3:30 PM EST

Best execution has changed markedly in recent years, especially since lenders now need to consider non-price features and benefits with a GSE execution relative to a traditional aggregator sales model. Listen to industry veterans review the essential elements of best execution, updated to reflect newer considerations, such as Day 1 Certainty, changing rules about rep/warrant, and new and different servicing released solutions, such as SET (with Fannie Mae).

The rep/warrant framework, with three year sunsets and Day 1 Certainty are introducing new benefits that should be quantified in any best execution analysis, including operational efficiencies for staff processors and underwriters, reduced risk of repurchase, and quantifiable reductions in loan loss reserves. SET and other similar servicing released executions are allowing lenders to more easily compare executions on equal footing.

Session Objectives:

The following information will be discussed at this webinar:

  • An outline of newer servicing released and servicing retained strategies.
  • A comparison of financial statements and cashflows with each strategy.
  • Considerations for choosing between a servicing released sale to aggregators and subservicing alternatives.
  • A discussion of the value of Day 1 Certainty and other forms of rep and warrant relief available today.
  • The hidden costs and opportunities between various execution options.

  • Karin Good, President of KMG Consulting, LLC
  • Jennifer Whip, Principal of Cambridge One, LLC
