Understanding the Impact of the New HUD 2530 Rules

Tuesday, May 23, 2017

2:00-3:30 p.m. EST

In October 2016, HUD issued Notice H2016-15 Processing Guide for Previous Participation Review of Prospective Multifamily Housing and Healthcare Programs’ Participants. This webinar is designed to assist the FHA lender’s understanding of the terms of the notice and the requirements set forth by HUD. This webinar will address the three focus areas set forth in the notice: specified capacity/controlling participants, organizational charts, and flags. While HUD has the authority to make the ultimate decision in which individuals and/or entities can be a specified capacity and a controlling participant, the lender must be confident in their recommendation to the lender.

The webinar will help the lender interpret the notice and explore layers of ownership to identify the appropriate individuals and entities. Organizational charts and what is required to be contained within each chart will be reviewed and sample organization charts will be analyzed. Flags used in the APPs system and the process to have flags removed will also be reviewed.

Attendees should expect to:

  • Discover which changes will affect reporting for your organization and your business partners
  • Analyze organization structures, principals, and reporting requirements
  • Learn about the impact on existing transactions and what actions you may need to take now

  • Denise Murphy Edwards, Principal, Murphy Consulting LLC

Who Should Attend?

  • FHA underwriters who are required to identify a specified capacity/controlling participant within the borrower mortgage credit analysis and provide organizational charts to HUD.
  • Aid servicers and asset managers in the ongoing borrower mortgage credit review and addressing the flags that appear in the APPs system
